Northern Storage Suite introduces the “self-service” model to storage management, facilitating efficient, low-maintenance storage management. Storage Portal keeps users informed of their storage use and provides them with the knowledge and tools needed to manage their storage use. Now you have a partner in economical and intelligent storage resource management - Northern Storage Portal.

Storage Management Is Now Everyone’s Business
Northern Storage Portal enables you to communicate with users via a web interface. Users are kept informed of individual data trends, status of their storage resources, and quotas. Storage Portal enables users to: view statistics about their home folder, move or delete unnecessary files, and ask for more disk quota. These requests can be handled automatically, according to your defined rules.

Users access their individual 'portal' from email notifications generated through Quota Server 2003. The email includes a link for instant access to their storage status.

As is the case with each component of Northern Storage Suite; Storage Portal is designed to expand your choice in the design and implementation of storage policies. By giving you the choice to share knowledge across the organisation, users are more inclined and better able to become active participants in answering the demands of Storage Resource Management.
