PC-Duo Enterprise PC Remote Control Software Offers Access to Any Computer
from Any Location
PC-Duo Enterprise Remote Control enables
your help desk technicians to take instant control of any desktop
PC or Server at any location across the LAN, WAN or internet.
When one of your IT specialists needs to access
an individual user’s PC, remote control software can make the
process as non-invasive as possible for the end user. The PC-Duo
Remote Control module offers IT support staff easy remote computer
access, eliminating in-person visits to networked computers to resolve
initial calls. End users benefit as well, with fewer disruptions
and fewer instances of downtime.
Enterprise’s remote access software provides flexibility for
IT support staff by offering three different options for working
with remote screens. When accessing a particular PC, our remote
control software also provides staff with various modes of communication,
including audio chat, so it’s easy to solve problems or provide
help and training from anywhere to anywhere.
New v9.5 now includes:
- 64-bit Client Support - the client can be installed
and used on 64-bit systems such as Windows XP x64 and Windows
Server 2003 x64 (AMD Athlon & Intel)
- Improved Thumbnails - provide real-time monitoring of
client systems. Individual Thumbnail views can also be zoomed
using a slider.
- Updated Hardware System Snapshot - to include the latest
inventory tool (PC-Duo Enterprise v4.01). Support for Hardware
capture from Pocket PC/PDA clients is added.
- Improved Software Snapshot - includes support for packages
identified from executable file version info properties and Add/Remove
Programs as well as those in the supplied Applications Library.

Industry leading features
PC-Duo Remote Control has three ways of viewing the PC remote screen - Watch, Share and total Control modes. During a remote control session you can work the way that suits you by choosing full screen, windowed with auto-scroll and scale-to-fit modes. As well as viewing multiple Clients simultaneously, PC-Duo allows Clients to be viewed by multiple Controls - facilitating collaborative remote support from dispersed PC support specialists.
One-to-one and one-to-many File Transfer and Directory Synchronisation
are available through a simple to use Explorer-like drag-and-drop
interface. Subject to security settings, PC-Duo Remote Control also
allows you to view file content and edit remote files. Clipboard
support allows you to speed up remote PC diagnosis by capturing
text from remote applications.
PC-Duo Remote Control gives you several modes of communication between help desk and PC users. One-to-one and one-to-many Text Messaging provides a simple way for a Help Desk or a System Manager to disperse information, while the one-to-one Chat is invaluable for contacting remote users when the phone is unavailable or engaged. The Group Chat acts as a chat room, and Audio Chat allows verbal communication if no phone is available.
PC-Duo Remote Control supports IP, NetBIOS, IPX, Dial-up, ISDN and CAPI.
Software Identification Manager
PC-Duo has an advanced software recognition feature that allows IT support teams to identify software applications installed on networked PCs. Applications found on a Client are displayed in the Software Identification Manager grouped by category:
- Confirmed Identifications lists applications identified by the Applications Library.
- Provisional Identifications lists applications identified using version information from the file properties of executables. This information can be used to confirm the identification and promote the application to the Confirmed Identifications list.
- Unidentified Software lists the directories that contain executable files, which Software Snapshot is unable to identify.
Multi-level Security
PC-Duo Remote Control provides a wide range of security
functions that ensure your systems are protected. Session characteristics
can be profiled by reference to Control users' NT user group membership.
Characteristics such as allowed modes of remote control (Watch,
Share, Control), directories accessible for R/W from the File Transfer
module, and many more, are established dynamically according to
the status of the Control user. Activity Logs record all Control
activity, giving an accurate audit trail of help desk activity.
Multilevel passwords, user acknowledgments and security key coding
complement the encryption of all PC-Duo network traffic, using any
of the several encryption standards supported - 56bit DES, 64bit
(Blowfish), 128bit (Twofish), 256bit Advanced Encryption Standard.
The Record and Replay feature securely records all remote control
sessions, protecting both the desktop user and the PC-Duo user from
misuse of PC-Duo's capabilities.
Remote Training & Presentation
PC-Duo is a powerful training and presentation tool. The Show feature enables the Control user to broadcast their screen to any number of other PCs on the network simultaneously.
You can easily monitor the progress of all students using the Scan facility, which automatically cycles through viewing all student PC screens. Annotate your screen to highlight what you are doing or even lock-out the remote users' keyboard and mouse.
Performance and Reliability
PC-Duo Remote Control is GDI Intercept based and uses a Mirror Driver
on W2K and above. With tunable caching and bitmap data compression
for graphic elements, PC-Duo truly puts you in front of the remote
monitor and provides fast and smooth control of the remote PC or
NT/W2K/2003 server.
PC-Duo's exceptionally low bandwidth usage provides smooth and fast performance even on slow WAN, Internet and dial-up connections.
Flexibility from advanced customization
Match features to groups of users with Control Profiles such as HelpDesk, SysAdmin and PowerUser. You can select which icons to use for your Toolbars and tailor session behaviour to groups of desktops. PC-Duo also allows you to plug third party products into the Tools menu and pass through PC name or IP address.
Additional Features
With System Snapshot - 600 items of system and configuration data
can be collected from the remote PC. Use powerful Scripting to automate
application and system management processes. Command Line Launch
allows you to integrate PC-Duo into existing help desks and system
management frameworks.
Security and other configuration settings for PC-Duo Remote Control
can be controlled through Active Directory Group Policies, streamlining
administration and providing an easy way for exploiting the flexibility
and richness of the configuration options.
